Firetruck Party Activities and Decorations

Little Bee had a wonderful "turning two" birthday party a few months ago. I enjoyed scanning Pinterest for many of these firetruck party activities and decorations. Some of my favorite creations were the pin the wheels on the firetruck and the blazing bell pepper party snacks. 

Fire Zone Entrance Decor

On the front door I hung red, orange, and yellow streamers along the entire length of the door. I also printed this free firetruck coloring page onto red paper, wrote my welcome on it with a sharpie marker, and laminated (optional) the truck printable. It was a simple yet fun way to decorate the front door.

Flaming Firetruck Birthday Banner

I found the "Happy Birthday" firetruck banner at ThePartyPaperFairy shop on Etsy. The printable came as an entire package with cupcake toppers, party favor labels, and more. I created the flames using this free flame printable and the idea from the Hostess with the Mostess blog. I taped the flames onto the wall behind the birthday banner to create this flaming sign design.

Fireman Photo Props

These fun photo prop fireman printables were found at the PaperBuiltShop on Etsy. All the guests who came to the party had fun lining up for a photo opportunity with these silly props. Even Mom and Dad got in on the fun with our little birthday boy!

Blazing Party Food Ideas

I used the colors of red, orange, and yellow as the inspiration for our firetruck party food. I ordered red velvet cupcakes from a bakery nearby and topped them with these cute firetruck cupcake toppers. We enjoyed a simple and healthy meal of various red, orange, and yellow fruits and vegetables. We had various bowls full of colorful vegetables to add to a taco or chips with beans and rice. I created a veggie kabob firetruck ladder for the kids to enjoy, made out of cucumbers, olives, and cherry tomatoes. The fruit kabobs were made of strawberries, cantaloupe, and pineapples. The red, yellow, and orange sliced bell pepper cups were a bright addition to our healthy snack table. I also had fun mixing up red, orange, and yellow plasticware with red plates and orange napkins. It was a flaming bright birthday bash!

Favorite Party Memories

I have to share some of my favorite party memories from our special birthday event. I loved watching Little Bee attempt to blow out his number 2 candle. He was very determined to blow the candle out and didn't want any help. The only problem was that he kept his upper lip over his lower lip so he wasn't able to blow the air in the right direction. It was super cute to watch his sweet blowing technique.

Little Bee also enjoyed receiving wonderful firetruck gifts such as the Melissa & Doug puzzle pictured below.

Last of all, Daddy and I were ecstatic to see our little boy turn two years of age! It has been an incredible journey full of an abundance of laughter and lack of sleep. 🙂 Yep! We love our little man to the moon and back!

Pin the Wheel on the Firetruck

The kids enjoyed several firetruck party games and their favorite was pin the wheel on the firetruck. Last minute, I could not find the handkerchief I had planned to use as a blindfold, so instead we used a scarf. I gave each child crayons and a pair of cut out wheels to color and then pin onto the firetruck. This helped the child know which wheels were their wheels after they were taped to the wall. I used the same free firetruck printable that I used for the entrance sign. However, I enlarged the truck and printed it out on three pieces of red paper instead of one piece of paper. I lined the edges of the printed firetruck up and cut off the excess. The enlarged firetruck was a nice size for taping to the wall for the pinning of the wheels to the truck. The kids loved this game and the winner got a prize.

Firetruck Tot Trays

The kids enjoyed several firetruck tot trays using a free firetruck printable and an adorable fire dog printable. The first tot tray was set up as a coloring page with crayons. The second tot tray was a firetruck with various pieces of the firetruck cut out to velcro onto the matching part on the firetruck. I simply printed off two copies of the firetruck printable and cut out the pieces of the firetruck that I wanted to highlight. Little Bee loved this tot tray and naming the various parts of the firetruck - ladder, wheels, windows, siren light, bumper, and storage. The third tray was a fun tray for fine motor skill development by using tiny pompoms, tweezers, and black paint to create spots on the Dalmatian dog. The forth tray was a match the tiny black pompom to the black circles. These activities were inspired from the Catch My Party blog.

Montessori Inspired Firetruck Activity Shelves

Last of all, I had an activity shelf for the kids to explore with firetrucks to play with and puzzles. There was also a flaming ball toss game for toddlers. It was fun for the toddler to find the holes in the front of the flaming box and toss a ping-pong ball into the hole. There was an opening in the side of the box for them to retrieve their ball and do it all over again. This blazing fire ball toss idea was inspired from They Call Me Krafty Karen blog.
