Welcome to Little Bee’s very first Montessori inspired bedroom. Please note that this Montessori baby room is in transition (we need to dismantle the crib and store it away). Little Bee slept in his crib for a few months. He started out in our bedroom in a side crib for the first two to three months. One day we transitioned him to his own bedroom. I wasn’t ready to put him on the floor bed at three months of age, so he slept in his bright green mini crib for several months. When he could roll both ways (back to front and front to back), that is when I moved him to the floor bed. The floor bed was wonderful for breastfeeding Little Bee to sleep for his naps and at bedtime.
Little Bee’s Montessori inspired room has been a HUGE hit in our home. Little Bee loves his floor bed and he enjoys hanging out independently in his room. In the mornings, he happily wakes up and starts playing. That gives his weary parents a few more moments of waking up time. It’s a win-win! Below are the Montessori shelves that reside in Little Bee’s bedroom.
This Montessori shelf set-up was when I was first learning about Montessori. It is a little too busy, but still fun and colorful for Little Bee to enjoy. He loved to play with the plastic boxes with lids. Taking the lid off the box and then putting it back on entertained Little Bee for long periods of time at a year old! He also loved to grab the container full of various textured balls and pour them out on the floor.
Thanks for visiting Little Bee’s Montessori inspired room. Our family is moving to a new home in July and I plan to update Little Bee’s room. Please come back and visit Little Bee’s room after July for a brand new look! Little Bee will have a child sized closet, personal care toddler table & chair, reading corner, fun new activities on his shelves, and low hanging art. It is going to be SO much fun for Little Bee and this excited Mama Bee. 🙂
