Christian Montessori Shelves
Our family enjoys using these beautiful Christian Montessori Shelves every morning for worship time before Daddy goes off to work for the day. We start our worship with several kid friendly songs, pray, read a couple Bible stories, and then pray again. Daddy and I make the worship experience tot friendly with hands on props and action songs. This is my favorite time of day.
Little Bee has a gorgeous Montessori "inspired" basket with a picture of Jesus, a small wooden cross, and a giant (tot safe) bolt, to represent a nail. I thought this hands on basket would be a great way for Little Bee to begin learning the story of salvation. When we pray or sing songs about Jesus, we take out this picture so Little Bee can begin understanding who Jesus is. Little Bee adores this picture of Jesus and hugs it to himself. It's very endearing...
Every morning we read at least two Bible stories to Little Bee.
The books shown below are Little Bee's favorite worship books. He loves the "Bible Pop-up Pals" series and his all time favorite in that series is David and Goliath. Next shown is the "Little Lion's Bible." This Bible for toddlers and preschoolers has inspiring rhyming Bible stories and gorgeous illustrations. The "Touch-and-See Bible" is also wonderful because it includes tactile learning with each Bible Story. These "Lift and Look" Bible Story books shown below, are great for children under a year old. They have thick foam pages that are easy for young children to turn. Each page has a pop out section that is fun for a toddler to take out and put back.
A big part of our worship time includes praising Jesus with song. David and I make it fun for Little Bee by singing songs that are kid friendly using hand gestures and gross motor movement. We also all play an instrument from the music basket found on our Montessori worship shelves. We have instruments that anyone can play with the rhythm of the song such as tambourines, shakers, sticks, clappers, bells, and more. Some of our favorite songs that we sing with Little Bee can be found on these CD's. Shown below is Tiny Tots Sing for Jesus!, Bible Songs, and Kids Time Singers.
In the near future, I will be sharing more about our Montessori Worship Shelves and the hands on activities that we use for learning. My goal is to change the story theme on our shelves every month. On our shelves shown below, you will see Jonah and the Whale on a Montessori tray. Little Bee adores this fun hands on Montessori inspired Bible lesson. What a sweet tradition to have! Great ideas. I’ve been looking for some more Bible books. These look like good ones! Also helps that they’re toddler approved 😉

Great post! I like how you provide a cross for him to hold and explore. A great way to encourage conversation about Jesus whenever he explores it. Thanks for the resources to some good children’s CDs. I feel like I’ve forgotten so many of the songs I sang as a child. I look forward to reading more about your hands-on Bible story material for Little Bee!
