Organizing Tips for a Tiny Kitchen

*This blog contains affiliate links that I love and enjoy (see disclosure policy.)

Today I am going to share with you several organizing tips for a tiny kitchen. I have literally organized every square inch of space in my tiny kitchen. It is not perfectly organized to my liking, but it is how it REALLY is! It is not fancy, but it is useable... even for two adults, a small child, and the dog ALL in the kitchen at once! LOL!Organizing Tips for a Tiny Kitchen - www.mamashappyhive.com

My BIG idea for the top of the fridge are these lovely black baskets for holding all those extra supplies that are needed in the kitchen.  You know how it gets up there!  It is the "catch-all" place for all those extra food supplies.  I found these tall black baskets at IKEA.  I keep our bags of chips and crackers in these baskets. I also have several clear glass containers for beans, rice, and various "raw" tea on top of the cupboards. I think these baskets and jars help the top of the fridge and shelves look more organized.

Baskets

I appreciate these clear plastic air-tight containers from the Container Store for storing all our snacks! I love that I can see what is inside so I can quickly grab what I am looking for.

Snacks

This vertical stacking rack is a great space saving idea that allows easy use. I found that stacking all the glass baking dishes inside one another (horizontally) created an awkward mess. They had to be stacked just right or there wasn't enough room for everything. With the addition of this vertical rack, I don't have to worry about stacking perfectly because I can easily slide a dish in and out, without any fuss!

Also, this rack holding the towels from the Container Store, has added a little more space to these small cupboards.  Below the metal rack I can store trays or plastic containers, so essentially it adds another shelf to these small cupboards.

Under the cupboards

I love the following wire rack space saving ideas from The Container Store. These racks utilize the door space for all those plastic bags, cling wrap, and tin foil. I tie the plastic grocery bags into a knot put them into the wire container.

Cupboard StorageI enjoy using this simple "half" drying rack found at Target. I don't have space for a full drying rack. So this "half" rack allows me to still use half of my sink space. I also like to store my dish sponge on the side because the wire rack allows air to circulate and dry my sponge between uses.

It’s so neat and clean and uncluttered! It’s the papers that overwhelm me! Great job!

I love the vertical rack for the baking dishes! My cupboard is a giant mess because they are all different sizes. I’m going to have to keep my eye out for one of those. Thank you for sharing! 🙂

Oh the top of the fridge! I have to store things there but hate looking at the items. Love the basket idea! I slapped my forehead and said “duh”!
