Tall Dark and Handsome – Part Two

*This blog contains affiliate links that I love and enjoy (see disclosure policy.)

How did I actually meet my Prince Charming?  Well, let me start this part of the story with a twist.  God had closed our eyes for each other until it was just the right moment for us to meet.  I had gone to church with David for a long time and had never noticed him.  It was as if I was blind.  Than one day, when the timing was right... BOOM!  My eyes were opened!  And there he was... my bright shining prince!

My very best sister friend and I lived together, in southern California, while going to school.  We attended a fantastic church group and met many wonderful friends during this time.  One beautiful spring day after church, several friends decided it would be wonderful to visit California’s famous blooming Poppy fields.  Well, guess who jumped into the car full of girls?  My "Prince Charming" jumped right in the car with all of us ladies.  None of us knew him very well, but we knew he attended our church often.  It was a gutsy and daring move on his part!

And to top it off, he had a whole container of the most delightful strawberries I had ever seen.  I am a BIG FAN of strawberries.  David's famous line of that day was, "Vanessa, would you like a strawberry?"  My reply, "Why yes!"  I think I ate most of the strawberries he brought along with him.

My Best Sister Friend and I - BFF!

We all drove together to the Poppy fields.  Everyone in the car had fabulous conversations about how God converted our hearts and changed our lives.  David was very impressed with my testimony/conversion story.

It was love at first sight with a few glitches.  We will talk about the glitches later.  LOL!  But seriously, it was love at first sight.  David says he couldn’t take his eyes off of me and after we returned home… I couldn’t stop talking about the tall dark and handsome man I had met in the Poppy fields!
